Mit einer knappen Meldung über Facebook/Twitter gab Anders Hagström am Wochenende bekannt, das Ashbury Heights wieder zurück sind. Elf Monate nach der Auflösung der Band.
Saw the AH wikipedia page today and it didn’t sit right with me. Particularly the “AH was a band”-thing. A settlement has been reached, we’re back.
So die kurze und knappe Mitteilung auf Facebook/Twitter, die für begeisterte Kommentare sorgte.
Im Oktober 2010 hatte sich Band aufgelöst, nach einem ordentlichen Krach mit dem Label “Out of Line”. Anders Hagström warf dem Label vor, die Band falsch zu managen und sah so keine Zukunft mit Ashbury Heights. Im Dezember gab es dann noch ein Konzert mit Yasmine Uhlin Schweden. Yasmine Uhlig war bereits 2008 aus der Band ausgestiegen und wurde bis 2010 dann von Kari Berg ersetzt.
Jetzt will Anders Hagström erstmal seine musikalischen Ideen umsetzen und aufnehmen. Ob und wann es eine neue Veröffentlichung gibt ist noch völlig unklar, ebenso wer eine eventuelle weibliche Sängerin wird. Es wird wohl aber eine neue Dame an der Seite von Herrn Hagström zu sehen sein. Yasmine Uhlin ist mit ihrem Projekt “Javelynn” beschäftigt und Kari Berg hat mittlerweile auch eigene Projekte.
People are asking about what lineup will be used for the future releases. I do not know really, right now it’s all about the music. I haven’t been able to record for two years and there are a lot of ideas I want to explore.
Will write and record the new material before deciding on a new female vocalist. There is plenty of time and i want everything to feel right
Because Yaz is concentrating on her work with Javelynn and Kari has her own projects now. I also feel that I want to explore the musical possibilities before I start thinking about which voice i want. I wont rule out the Human league thing either, getting two vocalists for a richer harmony.
